Deputy Minister of Human Resources Dato’ Sri Ramanan Ramakrishnan has praised a group of Malaysian students for their outstanding achievements at the World Robot Games (WRG) 2025, describing their success as a reflection of the country’s growing strength in robotics and STEM education.
In a post, Dato Ramanan commend the 24 students from 13 schools who collectively secure more than 80 medals at the international competition, bringing recognition to Malaysia on the global stage.

Recognition on a Global Platform
The World Robot Games is one of the world’s largest robotics and STEM competitions, drawing over 1,000 participants from 10 countries, including Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Singapore and Malaysia.

Dato Ramanan noted that almost every Malaysian participant returned home with at least one medal, adding that the achievement marked an improvement compared to Malaysia’s participants in the previous year.
Early Exposure and Long-Term Commitment
Among the students highlighted by Dato Ramanan was K. Sachein, a 13-year-old who began building, coding, and debugging robots at the age of eight.
According to Dato Ramanan, the young innovator’s success is the result of eight years of consistent training and dedication, underscoring the importance of nurturing STEM interest from an early age.

A Stronger STEM Ecosystem
Dato Ramanan said the students achievements reflect not only individual excellence but also the collective efforts of educators, parents, and institutions supporting STEM education in the country. He added that the success proves Malaysian students are capable of competing at the international level when given continuous exposure, guidance, and opportunities to grow.
The appreciation, Dato Ramanan said, serves as an encouraging sign for the future of STEM education in Malaysia, and highlights the nation’s potential to nurture globally competitive young innovators
