Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek paid a condolence visit to the family of the late soldier Trooper K. Indiran and assured that the Ministry of Education (MOE) would coordinate appropriate assistance for his siblings, particularly the youngest, who is still is school.
Fadlina said the MOE had been instructed to work closely with the District Education Office (PPD) to ensure that all necessary educational support and welfare assistance are provided for K. Maitraashini, a Year Six pupil at Sekolah Kebangsaan Convent Greenlane.

“I have asked the PPD, and it’s representatives are also present today, so that we can coordinate any assistance and educational support for this child,” she told reporters after visiting the family’s home in Taman Sri Nibong.
“So the family need not worry. We will look into all her needs from time to time, specially for her education,” she added.
Also present during the visit was A. Kumaresan.
Offering Comfort in a Time of Grief
Fadhlina spent about 20 minute meeting Indiran’s mother, S.Usha, 52, and his three siblings to convey condolences, provide moral support, and present contributions aimed at easing the family’s financial burden following the loss of their main breadwinner.
The education minister was visibly moved as she listened to Usha recount her grief over the sudden passing of her eldest child.

Apart from Maitraashini, Indiran’s siblings include K.Varshini, 21, who is pursuing her studies at Universiti Malaysia Kelantan, and K.Sarvien, 17, a student at the MARA Junior Science College in Kulim, Kedah.
A Loss Felt Beyond the Family
Fadhlina said Indiran’s death was not only a profound loss to his family but also to the nation, as it involved a young security personnel who had served the country with dedication.
When met, Usha expressed deep appreciation for the minister’s visit, saying it brought comfort to the family as they continue to come to terms with the tragedy.
She shared that Indiran had been her pillar of strength since the death of her husband, Major C. Kayamboo, a Royal Malaysia Air Force pilot who was killed in an aircraft crash in 2016.
