The AMMA Foundation officially launched it’s HOPE Initiative 2026 on 22nd February 2026, marking a major step forward in expanding access to higher education for financially disadvantaged Malaysians. The launch was held at the AMMA Community Centre, bringing together ten partner universities and colleges, alongside more than 75 community leaders representing 27 non-governmental organisation (NGOs).
HOPE, which stands for Harnessing Opportunities for Pathways in Education is designed to create meaningful and accessible routes into higher education for young Malaysians from B40 and M40 households. Through the 2026 initiative, the foundation will offer 61 scholarships valued at over RM3 Million, covering programmes ranging from foundation and diploma courses to undergraduate degrees with intakes running from March to October 2026.

Expanding Pathways to Higher Education
Speaking at the launch, AMMA Foundation Vice President Professor Dr Pradeep Nair emphasised that the initiative is rooted in inclusivity and long-term impact, focusing not only on academic excellence but also on leadership potential and community engagement.
The HOPE initiative features a broad mix of disciplines, including medicine, dentistry, engineering, cybersecurity, business, law, psychology, creative multimedia, and hospitality. Several foundation and certificate programmes offer full or partial fee coverage. While selected scholarship also including monthly allowances and laptop support, easing the financial burden on recipients beyond tuition fees.

Among the highlights are fully funded opportunities and specialised programmes in collaboration with partner institutions, including international pathways options such as Bachelor of Business programme offered through Victoria University, delivered locally via Sunway College.
Who Can Apply
The scholarships are open to Malaysian citizens below the age of 25 whose household income falls within the B40 or M40 categories. Applicants must demonstrate strong academic performance, a clear commitment to higher education, and evidence of leadership qualities or community involvement.
The selection process will be jointly managed by AMMA Foundation and participating universities and colleges, with shortlisted candidates invited for face-to-face or online interviews.

How To Apply
Interested applicants are required to review available programmes under the HOPE initiative, complete application forms for both the selected institutions and AMMA Foundation’s financial assistance scheme, and submit all supporting document via email to the foundation. Successful candidates must fulfil all academic and administrative requirements before commencing their studies.
