The Sri Maha Mariamman Temple in Subang Estate is known for supporting B40 students by providing free education for Form 4 and Form 5 students in the area. The temple chairman, Mr. Murthi, stated that this free tuition initiative began in 2023 with just 15 students. Since then, it has grown each year, and the number of students has now increased to 45.

This consistent expansion has been made possible through the ongoing sponsorship and support from Mr. Ganesan and his wife, since 2023. The tuition covers four core subjects: Bahasa Melayu, English, History, and Mathematics. Classes are conducted twice a week, on Saturdays and Sundays, in the temple’s hall.

Datuk P. Gunaseelan stated that the increase in student enrolment for this free tuition initiative is in line with the improvement in academic performance, including the remarkable achievements in SPM by former students.

Mr. Arvind, one of the volunteer teachers, expressed his appreciation for the support shown by the temple management and the sponsors, which has greatly contributed to the teaching and learning process. He also highlighted the dedication of the volunteer teachers who regularly attend the classes. Their commitment plays a crucial role in ensuring that students remain motivated and focused on improving their academic performance.

This free tuition initiative stands as a testament to the strong collaboration between the temple management, sponsors, and volunteer teachers in empowering the future of children within our community.
