Several digital immigration services in Malaysia may experience temporary disruptions from March 9, 2026 to March 15, 2026 as the upgrading works will be carried out on the National Integrated Immigration System (MyNIISe).
In a statement by Home Ministry, the upgrade work involves system upgrade and data migration aimed at strengthening data security and improving the efficiency of immigration services nationwide.
Some online immigration may be temporarily disrupted during the maintenance period which will take place daily from 8pm to 4am. To minimise inconvenience, manual procedures and contingency measures will be available at international entry points across the country to ensure the smooth movement of travellers while maintaining national security.

The Home Ministry explained that the upgrade is part of the government’s ongoing efforts under the Madani administration to enhance stability, efficiency and user-friendliness of Malaysia’s immigration system.
The MyNIISe system is being introduced to replace the oldre Malaysian Immigration System (MyIMMs), which has been in use for more than two decades and is no longer able to meet current security and data integration needs.
Public are advised to plan their immigration-related matters in advance and avoid conducting online transactions during the maintenance period. The latest updates on the system status will be shared through official websites and social media platforms of the Home Ministry, the Immigration-Department and the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency.
