More than 80 students from B40 families were given laptops at a charity event held in Sungei Way on 28th March 2026, in effort to support their education and digital learning needs.

This was organised by the Selangor Welfare and Human Development Association, an NGO that has been running this similar efforts for over 13 years. The chairman, Mr.Sugumaran has led this initiative, focusing on all students getting access to education and uplifting the local community.

85 underprivileged students received the laptops during the event, providing them better tools to support their studies. The programme is to ensure students from low-income families are not left behind, especially in a digital learning environment that is highly increasing.

Several notable figures attended this event, which includes former Health Minister Tan Sri Dr. Subramaniam, Selangor state executive councilor YB V. Papparaidu, and Selangor UMNO Secretary Datuk Abdul Mutalif. Their presence showcases the importance of efforts driven by the community to support education.

Organisers have shared that they appreciate the donors whose contributions made it possible. Their support has helped, in order to continue this initiative that has benefited many students all over the years. The laptop donation ceremony shows the commitment to support youngsters through education, giving them tools they need to build a better future.
