In conjunction with the auspicious festival of Panguni Uthiram, a significant number of Hindu devotees are expected to visit the Sri Marathandavar Temple located in Sungai Jerik, Maran, Pahang. Estimates indicate that around 50,000 devotees will arrive at the temple throughout this week, particularly until Wednesday, as they join in the rituals and festivities associated with the celebration.
To ensure the safety and order of the event, Maran Police Chief Superintendent Wong Kim Wai, has informed the public that approximately 10,000 vehicles are anticipated to be in the area during this busy period. A comprehensive security plan has been put in place, with a deployment of 47 police officers along with an additional 304 personnel from the Maran District Police Department and other relevant district authorities. Their combined efforts aim to facilitate a smooth and enjoyable celebration for all attendees.

Maran Police Chief has issued a reminder to the public to remain alert regarding their personal belongings, advising against wearing gold jewelry, which may attract unwanted attention. Additionally, attendees are encouraged to ensure that their vehicles are securely locked to prevent theft.
Parents are particularly urged to keep an eye on their children during the celebrations to ensure their safety amidst the crowded environment. With the current hot weather, it is advisable for visitors to stay hydrated by bringing sufficient water supplies.
To further assist the public, several mobile police stations will be strategically placed on-site, providing a point of contact for anyone facing emergency situations or needing assistance during the festival. The Maran District Police are committed to maintaining a safe and pleasant experience for all those participating in the festivities.
