With the Panguni Uthiram Celebration, YB Tuan Yuneswaran Ramaraj, Deputy Minister of National Unity of Malaysia, who made his first visit to the Sri Maran Marathandavar Temple in Maran, Pahang. The visit is not only a spiritual event but a step towards supporting cultural and community-driven efforts.

During his time at the temple, Yuneswaran did a contribution of RM 7,000 towards the construction of a Thiruvalluvar statue in Sri Maran Marathandavar Temple. This aims to strengthen the Tamil language and heritage, while introducing important teachings and values for our future generation. The presence of the statue is expected to be a cultural symbol and educational reminder in the temple.

Beyond the contribution, the visit also includes a community-focused effort. Yuneswaran opened a thaneer panthal officially. A special tent that offers free drinks to devotees who attended the celebration. This initiative was carried out with the support of MADANI Unity Squad volunteers, the local KRT, and officers from JPN Maran, showing a shared spirit of service and togetherness.

The Panguni Uthiram celebration is a significant event for devotees. Often drawing large crowds. Efforts like the thaneer panthal plays an important role in making sure comfort and care for those who were present, especially under the hot weather.
Yuneswaran was also informed on the ongoing developments of the temple, including plans to build 18 Siddhar statues in the temple. It is expected to be completed within 4 months and will further enhance the the temple’s cultural and spiritual presence.

Through his visit, and contribution, Yuneswaran highlights the importance of preserving cultural identity while encouraging unity among Malaysia’s multicultural society.
