A 10-year-old student from Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil Barathy, Kavilaasri Balamurugan, has brought pride to our nation with her outstanding achievements in junior squash. She currently holds the number one national ranking in Malaysia and is ranked fifth in ASEAN for the girls’ under-11 category.

Kavilaasri has achieved remarkable results at both national and international levels, including:
- Champion at the Milo SRAM National Junior Open 2026
- Runner-up at the Oncocare Singapore Junior Open 2025
- Runner-up at the 3rd Southeast Asian Junior Championship 2025
- 5th Place at the British Junior Open 2026
Born on August 11, 2015, Kavilaasri’s early success highlights her talent and determination. Her achievements at such a young age have inspired fellow young athletes and underscored Malaysia’s growing presence in the junior squash scene.

Dato’ Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, the Chief Minister of Kedah, has congratulated Kavilaarasi on her accomplishments and reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting young athletes.
“Kedah is proud of her achievements, and we hope this will inspire more young athletes to strive for excellence at national and international levels,” he said.
Kavilaarasi’s journey is a testament to hard work, perseverance, and passion. This 10-year-old girl has brought pride to our community and nation, and she is widely expected to achieve even greater success in the coming years.
