Kuala Lumpur is set to welcome a rare South Indian craftsmanship this month, as two of Chennai’s most celebrated names, Tulsi Madras and NAC Jewellers, comes to Malaysia for a limited two-day exhibition that blends heritage, and modern bridal elegance.
Taking place on 25th and 26th April 2026, at The Majestic Hotel KL from 10AM to 7PM, the expo marks the brand’s first appearance in Malaysia and will be opened to the public with no prior registration required. Designed as more than just a retail event, it offers guest an immersive look into traditions, communities, and craftsmanship. Especially for Malaysian brides, the event brings a long-standing cultural journey closer to home.
A Relationship Shaped by Weddings and Tradition
For Tulsi Madras, Malaysian market is not something they are unfamiliar about. Over the years, the brand has built a loyal following among Malaysian brides, many who travels all the way to Chennai to personally select their Kanchipuram sarees. Co-founder Prathana Parekh has reflected this relationship with a sense of gratitude, sharing that being part of such important life moments has always been meaningful. She notes that many brides from Malaysia dedicates trips to find the perfect saree, and this trust continued to inspire the brand to evolve while staying rooted in tradition.
Her words captured both pride and responsibility, “Many Malaysian brides travel specifically to select their Kanchipuram sarees with us, and we are proud to be part of countless weddings. Being included in such meaningful milestones is an honour and inspires us to continue creating pieces that celebrate tradition while embracing modernity,” she said.
This upcoming showcase is just an expansion into a new market, but a continuation of an existing relationship built over the years of shared cultural appreciation.

Arjun Varadaran, Executive Direction of NAC explains that the designs in NAC Jewellers are rooted in identity while remaining adaptable to contemporary tastes. “Our signature collections include bridal classics that carry a strong cultural identity while remaining versatile and elegant. For festive and wedding occasions in Malaysia, NAC jewellery brings familiarity, sophistication, and a legacy to every celebration,” he said.

“We keep Kanchipuram as our core fabric but play with modern colours and contemporary designs. Each saree tells a story from hand painting to unique embroidery crafted to suit a variety of occasions,” says Prarthana. As Tulsi Madras continues to work around Kanchirpuram Silk, but tries out with different colours, techniques and motifs to expand their brand. Working with founder Sandeep Parekh, the brand brings collaboration with artisans from different regions in India.
Same goes to NAC Jewellers, they blend traditional elements with modern style, creating pieces that connects with a wide audience.
