A seven-year-old, has earned The Malaysian Book of Records as she completed 643-piece jigsaw puzzle in an hour. This is a remarkable achievement that highlights her skills and determination. Abhineya, was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (Level 2) at the age of 5.
Her journey in puzzles was not something they had planned earlier or a hobby she grew in. Abhineya, found her inner talent one day when she was waiting for an art class, a teacher handed her a jigsaw puzzle to complete. That simple gesture soon revealed her talent and ability.

A Journey that Was Shaped by Discovery
The journey started as just a time pass hobby, but soon developed into something she was passionate about. Even though Abhineya had challenges related with autism, she showcased her ability to focus, visualize and mentally figure out which pieces each puzzle belonged to.

Her record breaking attempt, does not only reflect her technical skill, but shows the high level concentration and perseverance she has at such a young age. This puts Abhineya among the youngest record holders in Malaysia. This shows how neurodivergent individuals can excel in unique ways when their strengths are found and nurtured.

Abhineya’s mother, Naneecharam, has said the milestone is a proud moment for their family and a opportunity to change the perceptions around autism. She hopes that this inspires more people to recognise and celebrate the strengths children with autism has.
“I am incredibly proud of Abhineya’s achievement, which highlights her resilience and potential. I hope her success inspires others to recognise and celebrate the strengths of children with autism. Together, let’s dispel the myths and promote awareness, acceptance, and appreciation for the talents of children with autism,” said her mother, who has a postgraduate diploma in autism and a certificate in ADHD from the Asian College of Teachers.

More than the record, Abhineya’s achievement serves a reminder that abilities can come in different forms. Her story not only celebrates a personal milestone but encourages a broader conversation on inclusivity, and recognizing talents with autism.
