Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) has announced a major restructuring of its train schedule in the Klang Valley starting from April 18, 2026. This restructure is part of ongoing efforts to facilitate the infrastructure updates under the Klang Valley Double Track Phase 2 (KVDT2) project.
According to the official statement released by KTM Berhad, the rescheduling will affect the Pulau Sebang to Batu Caves to Pulau Sebang route, with adjustments made to ensure the upgrading works can be carried out smoothly. The project involves enhancements to railway tracks, signalling systems and more related infrastructure improvements.
In order to accommodate the works, KTMB will implement a single-track operation system along the affected stations. Due to this, the Komuter train frequency will reduce particularly during peak hours.
Service Adjustments
Morning & evening peak hours:
- 5 train services each
- Intervals of 15 to 30 minutes
Temporary Service Suspension
No KTM Komuter trains from 10.00am – 4.00pm. The affected routes are:
Mid Valley – Pulau Sebang
Pulau Sebang – Bandar Tasik Selatan
Night Closures
Track closed between Salak Selatan – Seremban
Timing: 10.00pm – 6.00am

In addition, the ETS and cargo services will continue to operate. Two ETS services will have schedule changes, which are:

New arrival: 7.20pm
KL Sentral → JB Sentral
New departure: 8.00pm (previously 9.10pm)
New arrival: 12.20am
KTMB also noted that it will optimise train set usage and passenger capacity, particularly in the northern sector, to ensure service sustainability throughout the project period. The overall implementation is expected to continue until the end of December 2026.
Passengers are advised to plan their journeys in advance and stay updated via KTMB’s official website and social media channels. Those affected by the schedule changes are encouraged to consider alternative transportation options during off-peak hours, including ETS services where available, subject to ticket availability.
