Celebrate Puthandu and Vishu 2026: Best Indian Dining Spots in Klang Valley

The celebrations of Tamil New Year (Puthandu) and Vishu has arrived, homes across Malaysia will be filled with rituals and traditions. Rooted in culture and spirituality, both Puthandu and Vishu often begins with prayers, and a prayer spread with vegetarian dishes, which symbolizes purity and prosperity of the year.

But not everyone finds the time to prepare a full festive meal at home. More of, families and youngsters might choose to celebrate over a meal out, which honours the tradition while making it convenient. From specially curated festive menus, to vegetarian friendly offerings, many restaurants across Klang Valley are making the celebration memorable. From Banana Leafs, to comforting South Indian Feast..

here are some dining spots that promise to bring the spirit of Puthandu and Vishu.

1) Kayra & Coast

Celebrating Vishu with authenticity, Kayra presents a traditional Vishu Sadya. Which is available on 15th April only. Served for both dine-in and takeaway, the meal is riched with Kerala Cuisine. The price is RM40 for dine-in and RM45 for takeaway, the experience invites diners to gather and celebrate Vishu.

2) Kumars 1969

Known for their heart South Indian offerings, Kumar’s is having a Tamil New Year, Vishu and Vaisakhi special banana leaf set, that has an unlimited refill concept. The price of the banana leaf is at RM31++, the meal includes 11 dishes such as vegetable, rasam, inji puli, payasam, and ulunthu vada, along with Bru coffee.

This is available from 11th to 15th April at Bangsar Shopping Centre and Mont Kiara outlet.

3) Annalakshmi Vegetarian Restaurant

For those who wants a more traditional and calming dining experience, Annalakshmi serves Tamil New Year, and Vishu festive lunches on 14th and 15th April. The price starts at RM40 for adults and RM35 for children. They have 2 slots available, slot 1 is at 11.30AM – 1.00PM and slot 2 is at 1.15PM- 2.45PM.

4) KazaeNt Yalikingdom

Yali Kingdom is celebrating Puthandu with a month long promotion, offering 15% off all food and beverage throughout April. Diners can have a variety of dishes from traditional banana leaf to desserts.

5) Nameste India

Nameste India offers Baisakhi Thali Set, a vegetarian friendly option for the auspicious period. Priced is at RM39.90, the set includes dishes like sarson ka saag, makki di roti, mirchi pakora, and moong dal halwa. Which is available from 11th to 21st April in Hartamas, TTDI, and Bangsar outlets.
