SJKT Tun Sambanthan students gave a excellent performance at the Kejohanan Catur MSSD Petaling Perdana 2026, showcasing skills and determination throughout the competition.
Girls Team Secures Top 10
Representing SJKT Tun Sambanthan on 6th April 2026, a team of 5 girls competed against 81 schools in a competitive field. The team includes Usshani A/P Vijayan, Akshara A/P Shivanarayana, Kavillaya A/P Kumaraeswaran, Dhivya Dharshini A/P Nageswaran, and Thaashini A/P Pugalenthan, demonstrated strong focus and teamwork throughout the tournament.
Their efforts was paid off as they secured 10th place overall. A standout performer was Usshani A/P Vijayan who achieved 13th place out of 370 participants in the individual category.
Boys Team Shows Resilience in Competitive Field
The next day, 7th April 2026, the boys took the board, by competing against 101 schools including national-type, national and international schools. The team includes Eaashwarathevan A/L Thinakaran, Lavith Sharma Roy, Harishva Grithas, Sidhaartan Sasinthearan and Sarrvathevan A/L Thinakaran, who played with strong sportsmanship.
Sidhaartan Sasinthearan was one of the tournaments’s standout players securing top 7 position out of 489 participants at MSSD level. This achievements at this year’s championship reflects SJKT Tun Sambanthan’s continued commitment to nurturing well-rounded students who excel not only academically but in co-curricular pursuits as well.
