In connection with the leak of the movie Jananayagan, the Chennai Cyber Crime Police have arrested three suspects. This follows the earlier arrest of six individuals on April 12, 2026. According to the cybercrime police, the main accused is a freelance editor who gained access to the film footage and subsequently stole it. He then shared the footage with his co-accused, leading to the film being leaked and spread online.
After the footage was released online, many actors expressed their support on social media. Renowned figures such as Rajinikanth, Kamal Hassan, and Chiranjeevi condemned the actions of the accused for leaking the movie. On April 14, 2026, a cable operator was arrested for broadcasting a pirated version of Jananayagan.

Recently, the Madras High Court passed an interim order restricting cable operators and internet service providers from broadcasting or facilitating the exploitation of illegal footage of Jananayagan, as reported by Bar and Bench. This order followed KVN Productions, the company backing the film, filing a lawsuit.
Jananayagan is considered to be Vijay’s last movie, as he has announced his journey into politics. The film is produced by KVN Productions and directed by H. Vinoth. It stars Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Bobby Deol, and others. The music for the film is composed by Anirudh Ravichander. The movie has been awaiting clearance from the censor board since January 2026. Recently, it has been leaked online, and an official statement regarding its official release is yet to be announced.
