Datuk Ravinthran A/L N. Paramaguru is set to be elevated to the Federal Court of Malaysia, marking a significant development within the country’s legal system. Along with Datuk Ravinthran, Dato’ Azmi Bin Ariffin is also included on the list of appointees. Their promotions reflect their extensive experience and the judiciary’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its top leadership.

Both Datuk Ravinthran and Dato’ Azmi Ariffin, along with 12 other judges, will receive their letters of appointment from the Yang di-Pertuan Agong at Istana Negara tomorrow. Additionally, six high court judges are slated to move up to the Court of Appeal. Strengthening the Highest Court

The Federal Court is the highest judicial authority in Malaysia, responsible for making final decisions on major legal and constitutional matters. The elevation of Datuk Ravinthran and Dato’ Azmi from the Court of Appeal signifies a continued effort to ensure the bench is staffed with experienced and capable judges. Their appointments are expected to enhance the court’s efficiency and uphold the integrity of legal proceedings at the highest level.

The Malaysian Judiciary has announced that the live broadcast of the Ceremony for the Presentation of Letters of Appointment, as well as the Swearing-in and Oath of Office and Allegiance for Federal Court Judges, Court of Appeal Judges, and High Court Judges, will take place tomorrow, April 21, 2026 (Tuesday) at 3:00 PM.
