Datuk Karunanithy Y. Subbiah has been promoted to the position of Senior Director at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC). Previously, he served as the Director of Penang State’s MACC. The commission has stated that this leadership change is aimed at strengthening its organizational structure and improving overall efficiency.
In addition to Datuk Karunanithy’s appointment, MACC has also announced the appointment of Datuk Mohd Hafaz Nazar as the Senior Director of the Investigations Division. He previously held the position of Senior Director at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Academy (MACA).

These appointments are part of MACC’s ongoing initiative to reinforce leadership within the commission. The restructuring aims to enhance operational efficiency, raise integrity standards, and ensure more effective anti-corruption efforts across the nation.
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is confident that these two officers will continue to drive excellence and strengthen governance with integrity in line with the agency’s commitment to empowering competent, accountable and performance-oriented human capital.
Both appointments are expected to bolster MACC’s commitment to improving governance and enhancing its enforcement capabilities.
