A Simple Walk, A Lasting Bond: Why You Should Join ‘Jom Walk With Mum’ on Mother’s Day

Every second Sunday in May is celebrated as Mother’s Day around the world. This day is dedicated to honoring mothers, recognizing their love, sacrifice, guidance, and presence in our lives. In celebration of this special occasion, Luxura Entertainment is organising an event called “Jom Walk with Mum” to mark Mother’s Day, which falls on May 10, 2026.

Inspiration Behind the Event

The event organizer, Shanmughaselvi Rajagopal also the CEO of DesiGlam, shared her inspiration for creating this event. She often walks in the park and feels empowered by watching the sunrise and experiencing the energy of nature. This experience led her to the idea of hosting the “Jom Walk with Mum” event.

Shanmughaselvi expressed, “I realized how beautiful it would be if more people could experience these simple yet meaningful moments with their mothers. ‘Jom Walk With Mum’ was created from that feeling. It’s about sharing something I personally cherish and turning it into a collective experience for the community.”

Goals for the Event

Shanmughaselvi hopes that participants will feel a sense of calm and closeness with their mothers by joining this event. Walking is not only a physical activity; it is also connected to emotions. It can clear your mind and foster open conversations. She aims for the event to create opportunities for participants to strengthen their bonds with their mothers.

“I hope they slow down, walk side by side with their mum, and truly be present. Even a simple conversation during that walk can become a cherished memory. If they walk away feeling more connected to their mum, then we’ve achieved something meaningful.”

Relevance for Mother’s Day in Our Busy Lives

In our fast-paced world, life can be complicated and chaotic. Many people become so busy with work and other commitments that they forget to take the time to celebrate their mothers on Mother’s Day. The true essence of Mother’s Day is not just in giving gifts or making grand gestures; it’s about being present and spending quality time with our mothers.

“This initiative brings us back to that. It’s a reminder to pause, step out of our routines, and spend meaningful time with our mothers, perhaps by simply watching the sunrise together and sharing the quiet energy of the morning,” stated Shanmughaselvi.

Importance of the Event

Often, we take it for granted that there will always be another day. However, certain moments do not return, and what remains are the memories we create. Everyone deserves to enjoy the fresh air and tranquility of a morning walk with their mother. This event aims to create opportunities for making lasting memories. Ultimately, it’s not about how far we walk, but about who we walk with.
