The National Library of Malaysia (Perpustakaan Negara Malaysia) has organized an award function known as the PNM 2025/2026 Book Awards. This prestigious event is the nation’s highest recognition platform for quality local publications that have a significant impact on the development of knowledge, thought, and society’s civilization.
On April 24, 2026, the National Library of Malaysia held the “Read Together for 10 Minutes” event in conjunction with World Book and Copyright Day, along with the presentation of the National Library of Malaysia Book Award. This event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Unity, Yuneswaran Ramaraj.

In total, there are 27 award categories being contested to ensure inclusive and comprehensive recognition of the diversity of local works. Among these categories, five awards were given to Indian authors:
Adult Fiction Category
Annamalai A/L Savrimuthu
Book: Sanivini Novel

Adult Non-Fiction Category
Dr. S. Arunasalam
Book: Carey Theevu: Tamilarin Varalaadru Thadam

Kids Fiction Category
Balamurugan A/L Kesavan
Book: Uyang Malai: Iragasiyangalum Unmaigalum

Reader’s Choice (Printed Version)
Tewahar A/L Ramachandran
Book: Siragugal Mulaithe Tharunam
