The Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP) is continuing its efforts to raise awareness on the Modal Usahawan Dan Rangsangan Ekonomi India (MUDRA) initiative by organising a series of briefing programmes across the northern, southern and central zones involving representatives from Indian community.
Vimalan Palaniappan, Special Task Officer to the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP) stated that the briefings are aimed at helping more Indian entrepreneurs to understand better about the various financing schemes, support programmes and business opportunities which are available under the initiative.

One of the recent briefin sessions saw the participating of 40 representatives from Indian community from Neger Sembilan, Johor, Melaka and Selangor which covers the southern and central zone. Another session held at Penang involving representatives from Indian community from northern zone. The session held penang was also attended by Buntong assemblyman, Thulsi Manogaran.

Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia: Dana Program Pemerkasaan Usahawan Wanita India (Skim PENN)
Bank Rakyat: Skim Indian Entrepreneur Financing-i (BRIEF-i)
SME Bank: Skim Pembiayaan Vanigham
Suruhanjaya Koperasi Malaysia: Program Bakti MADANI & Tabung Modal Pusingan
TEKUN Nasional: Skim SPUMI
Together with them, SME Corp also involved in providing information on support programmes for entrepreneurs.

The programme also served as a platform to strengthen collaboration between the ministry, agencies and Indian entrepreneurs in expanding participation in entrepreneurship and cooperative sectors.
As mentioned in our previous article, the MUDRA initiative is introduced by Steven Sim Chee Keong, Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP) which is aimed at strengthening the economic ecosystem of the Indian community through financing assistance and business support programmes.
