In Tanjung Rambutan, Perak, five men including the victim’s own elder brother have been charged with the murder of an 18-year-old teenager. The case shocked many when police stated that the killing was linked to a dispute involving cable theft.
Victim Allegedly Killed During Early Morning Incident
18-year-old, S.K Kerisnan were murdered near the Sri Subramaniar Temple along Jalan Perpaduan Southward in Tanjung Rambutan. It was stated that the incident happened around 1am to 4am on May12, 2026. According to the reports, the incident is believed to have buildup from a disagreement related to cable theft activities. The victim’s body was later discovered inside a car at Jalan Lang Indah A/5 which is in the same area. However, authorities have not publicly revealed the exact date or time the body was found.
Five Men Charged in Court
Among those were charged is victim’s elder brother 22-years-old, S.K. Siri Sakti Vell along with K. Thirucelvan (33), Shashipal Singh Manmuhan Singh (36), N. Thaneshwaran (24) and P. Ukenthiran (35). Police stated that another suspect who is linked to this case remains at large.

All five men were brought before the Magistrate’s Court in Ipoh on May 20. No plea was recorded because murder cases fall under the jurisdiction of the High Court.
Murder Charge Under Penal Code
The accused were charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code, read together with Section 34 of the same Code. The offence carries the death penalty or imprisonment of up to 40 years upon conviction, along with possible whipping if the death sentence is not imposed.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Zarris Sofea Zainudin appeared for the prosecution, while all the accused were unrepresented. The court has scheduled July 26 for further proceedings.
