In another significant moment of pride, students from SJKT St Joseph, Kuala Lumpur, won gold and silver medals at the World Young Innovators Exhibition 2026. The event was held from May 18 to May 19, 2026, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
Gold Medal: FIDU (Fire I Detect U)
A team of five students: Durkessini Kalaikumar, Kirthikasini Kalaikumar, Vaishnevi, Vidya, and Haveenah Suntharam, has created an innovative invention called “FIDU – Fire I Detect U.” This invention is designed to enhance fire safety by alerting users to a fire accident at an early stage, potentially saving lives. Their remarkable work earned them the gold medal at the exhibition.

Silver Medal: NatureLock Hair Clay
Another team from SJKT St Joseph, comprising students Manushree Prakash, Thiloshini Kalaikumar, Vandhana Kanaprakash, Loniga Vijaykumar, and Anushka Sri Viknesh, secured the silver medal with their invention, Naturelock Hair Clay. This product caters to users with frizzy hair, allowing them to achieve a nice, clean hairstyle.

The remarkable achievements of these young innovators highlight the incredible potential of the next generation in technological and social advancements. Their creativity, hard work, and determination serve as an inspiration not just to their peers, but also to the broader community.
