The Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) has announced that total of 169,803 students who sat for the SPM 2026 exams have received offers to continue their studies at public higher education institutions through UPUOnline for 2026 intake.
According to MOHE, the offers includes place at public universities, polytechnic, community colleges and institutions under MARA’s Higher Education Division.
The numbers of total successful candidates
- 91, 357 students receive offers from public universities
- 60, 947 students were placed in polytechnics
- 15, 844 students receive community college offers
- 1,655 students secured placements at MARA higher education institutions
MOHE said they received a total of 235, 480 eligible application from SPM leavers through the UPUOnline this year. And total 363 academic programmes were offered for the intake, including certificate, foundation, diploma and bachelor’s degree.
The ministry said the admission is based on meritocracy principle, candidates were ranked according to their merit scores. The ministry also said special admission is provided for many groups of students, including,
- 701 people with disabilities (OKU)
- 310 Orang Asli students
- 179 Athletes
- 10, 499 students from B40 Families
- 65 candidates from Social Welfare Department (JKM) institutions
For the first time, MOHE has announced that academic programmes are open to people with disabilities based on suitability and qualification. Students who got excellent results were also offered placements. Students who did not receive an offer may appeal through UPUOnline system starting today till 5PM on 31st May 2026.
