The prestigious Seri Angkasa Awards (ASA) 2026 is coming back for it;s 37th edition, with nominations opening from 4th June until 22nd June 2026.
Deputy Minister of Communications, YB Teo Nie Ching announced their first year award will carry the theme “Sehalanya Bermula Di Sini”, reflecting evolution of Malaysia’s broadcasting industry from early radio days to today’s growing digital media landscape.
Seri Angkasa Awards has been organized by the Ministry of Communication since 1972. And it is one of Malaysia’s most significant platform to recognise the excellence in local broadcasting industry, while celebrating the creative talents working behind the scenes in TV, radio, and digital media.
Celebrating Excellence Across Broadcasting and Digital Media
For ASA 2026, 62 award categories will be featured, and covers many segments of the industry, including 40 television (TV) categories, 17 radio categories, 3 new media categories and 2 special categories.
This year also marks return of “Pengulas Radio Terbaik” category, which adds excitement for radio industry related people and listeners.
According to the Ministry, all nomination must be submitted with licensed broadcasting organisation. Eligible audio and audiovisual content must have first aired or published on television channels, radio stations, or new media platforms between 1st January 2024 and 31st December 2025.

The theme “Segalanya Bermula Di Sini” symbolises how Malaysia’s broadcasting industry has evolved over the years, and how it adapts from traditional radio and television to today’s digital-driven era while remaining an important part of the nation’s media landscape.
The launch ceremony saw many ministers including, Datuk Abdul Halim Hamzah, Datuk Bahria Mohd Tamil, Puan Rubaayah Osman, Dato’ Ir.Ts.Izwan Hasli Mohd Ibrahim, who is the location supervisor for ASA 2026 Nomination Launch Ceremony.
