In a moment of great pride, Chef Yuventhiranpillai, along with Chef Muhamad Syafiq Syahmi and Chef Leo Wong Soon Lee, has achieved a historic victory at the Thailand Ultimate Chef Challenge (TUCC) 2026, one of Asia’s most prestigious culinary competitions.
Thailand Ultimate Chef Challenge 2026
The competition was held from 26 to 30 May 2026 at the IMPACT Muang Thong Thani in Bangkok, Thailand. The competition was participated by more than 400 chefs from various countries across Asia and beyond. Endorsed by the World Association of Chefs’ Societies, the Thailand Ultimate Chef Challenge serves as a benchmark for culinary excellence, creativity and innovation.

Team Lotus’s Malaysia Secured A Historic Victory
Representing Malaysia under Team Lotus’s Malaysia were Chef Yuventhiran Pillai, Chef Muhammad Syafiq Syahmi Saidon, and Chef Leo Wong Soon Lee, who were the winners of the Professional Category of Lotus’s Malaysia’s Masak-Masak Ceria culinary competition. Competing internationally for the first time as a team, the trio delivered an outstanding performance against some of Asia’s top culinary talents.
The Malaysian team captured the spotlight by winning the Asian Gourmet Challenge and securing the only Gold Award presented in the Team Category. Their impressive achievement earned them the title of Overall Team Champion, awarded to the highest-scoring team in the competition.

Adding to the celebration, Chef Yuventhiran also excelled in the individual competition categories, where he reportedly secured one Gold Medal and two Bronze Medals, further highlighting his culinary expertise on the international stage.
The achievement marks a significant milestone not only for Chef Yuventhiran but also for Malaysian gastronomy, demonstrating the country’s growing presence and excellence in global culinary competitions. Through dedication, creativity and teamwork, Chef Yuventhiran and his fellow chefs have successfully raised Malaysia’s profile on the international culinary stage while inspiring the next generation of local culinary talents.
