SJKT Bandar Segamat in Johor has received exciting news that the school is set to have its own hockey field. Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek recently handed over an initial land-use approval letter for the development of the facility.
Fadhlina stated that this initiative was brought to her attention by Sekijang Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Dr. Zaliha Mustafa, who shared the school’s goal of providing better sporting facilities for its students.

SJKT Bandar Segamat has produced talented young hockey players who have demonstrated exceptional potential and achieved notable success in the sport. To address the matter, Fadhlina visited the school and held discussions with representatives from the District Education Office (PPD), the Johor State Education Department (JPN), and the Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG) to explore possible solutions.

These discussions led to a mutual agreement that is expected to benefit not only the students of SJKT Bandar Segamat but also nearby schools and the wider local community. As an initial step, Fadhlina presented an approval letter permitting the use of land for the proposed hockey field development, allowing the project to move forward.

She described this initiative as an investment in the future of young athletes, noting that the students’ dedication and discipline in pursuing the sport deserve continued support and opportunities for growth. Fadhlina expressed hope that this project would mark the beginning of a new chapter for sports development in the area and help nurture future talents capable of representing Malaysia on larger stages.
