Teachers and headmasters from six Tamil schools in Segamat parliamentary constituency was recently gathered for a special hi-tea session hosted by Deputy National Unity Minister and Segamat MP Yuneswaran Ramaraj.
The event brought teachers from six schools, SJKT Batu Anam, SJKT Ladang Sungai Muar, SJKT Ladang Gomali, SJKT Ladang Fortrose, SJKT Ladang Senarut, and SJKT Ladang Nagappa. According to Yuneswaran, the gathering is to have opportunity for educators to meet in a relaxed setting while sharing views, concerns and ideas related to education.

During the session, Yuneswaran shared updates from Prime Minister’s Office on the current economic developments and MADANI Government’s commitment to strengthen the education sector.
He said that education is one of the government’s key priorities, pointing to the significant allocation provided to Ministry of Education. He also noted Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s long commitment to education, such as Yayasan Anda Foundation in 1971 to support young people to continue their studies.

The programme also had a few informative sessions for educators. Inspector Thanasegaran a/l Chalaya from Criminal Investigation Department of the Segamat District Police Headquarters have a briefing on crime prevention and school safety, while Teacher Nurul Jalilah binti Abd Rahman, a counselor from SMK Buloh Kasap, did a workshop on managing stress among teachers.
Yuneswaran also appreciated Teacher Prema a/p Ramakrishnan, the chairman of Segamat District SJKT Teachers Council for sharing achievements of teachers and students from Tamil schools in the district.

Continued Support for Tamil Schools
According to Yuneswaran, the government has many forms of assistance to the six Tamil schools in Segamat constituency and will continue to work on strengthening education opportunity for students. Yineswaran said he expects there will be a similar program like this hi-tea with educators from Chinese Vernacular schools and national schools in Segamat parliamentary constituency.
