From Drishyam 3 to Maa Inti Bangaaram: South Indian Releases to Watch This Week

South Indian entertainment fans have many films to look forward to this week, with a mix of OTT films and theatrical releases in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada language. From crime thrillers and action dramas to romantic stories and comedy entertainers, this week’s lineup offers something for everyone. Here are the South Indian films releases to watch this week:

1) Kenatha Kanom

In a doubt-hit village, Kenatha Kanom follows a community desperately finding for water. Their hopes gets high when they decide to dig a well outside the house of a local temple pries Manivasaar. However, things take an unexpected turn when they find dinosaur bones instead of water. As archaeologists take over the village, everything gets chaotic and funny.

The film is directed by Suresh Sangaiah and stars Yogi Babu, Raichal Rebecca, Ramakrishnan, George Mariyam, Kavitha Bharathi, and Rajendiran.

2) Athiradi

Malayalam action-comedy Athiradi is a comedy drama, of a reckless and enthusiast engineering student takes a challenge to ban college fest. Somehow he clashes with SreeKuttan, a former local-goon turned musician. The story fills with tension and ego between the duo.

The film is directed by Arun Anirudhan, and stars Tovino Thomas, Basil Joseph, Riya Shibu, and Vineeth Sreenivasan.

3) Maa Inti Bangaaram

Samantha Ruth Prabhu takes over a action entertainer film. The plot revolves around a bride trying her best to fit into her new family. While she struggles with traditionally expectations, everything changes when someone from her past appears back in her life. Forced to protect her loved ones, she reveals a fearless side no one expected.

The film is directed by BV Nandini Reddy and stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Gulashan Devaiah, Diganth Manchale and more. The film is released in theaters from 19th June 2026.

4) Drishyam 3

Drishyam 3 is a Malayalam film that brings back Mohanlal as Georgekutty in the latest chapter of the popular thriller franchise. The story of this film focuses on Georgekutty’s internal struggles as he continues to deal with the consequences of the past while protecting his family. The film is available in many dubbed versions such as Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.

The film is directed by Jeethy Joseph, and stars Mohanlal, Meena, Siddique, Asha Sharath, Murali Gopy, Ansiba Hassan, and Esther Anil.

5) Nooru Saami

The story revolves around a widowed mother raising two sons, with personal and societal challenges.

The film is directed by Sasi, previously the director of Pichaikkaran and stars Vijay Anthony, Swasika, Ajay Dhishan, Lijomol Jose, Karunas, Sakthi and many more. The film is released in theaters from 19th June 2026.

This week’s South Indian OTT and theatrical releases gives a mix of genres, from the suspense of Drishyam 3 and the action packed Maa Inti Bangaaram to comedy of Kenatha Kanom. Both OTT films and theatrical films arrives in multiple languages, giving audience many options to add into their watchlist. Whether you’re a fan of thrillers, romance, comedy or action, these releases will bring something new to screens.
