S.Sivasangari has ended her PSA Squash Tour Finals 2025-2026 campaign as runner up after losing to world No.1 Hania El Hammamy from Egypt in the women’s final at Paris.
Even though she did not win the title, Sivasangari has given her best ever performance at the tournament by being the first Malaysian after squash legend Datuk Nicol David to reach finals of PSA Tour in 2012.
Sivasangari seeded fourth for the tournament, lost the opening game (6-11)but came back strongly in the second game (11-10). In the next games, El Hammamy regained control and won the next two games with 11-8, 11-8 and won the title.
Historic Achievement for Malaysian Squash
Although Sivasangari won as the runner up, she marked a major milestone as she became the first Malaysian woman since Datuk Nicol David in 2012 to reach PSA Tour Finals final. She won against world No.2 Amina Orfi from Egypt in 74 minutes battle.
Although she did not win the title, Sivasangari takes the positives from her performance. She continues an excellent 2026 season, as she captured Grasshopper Cup title earlier this year. Her performance have strengthened her position among world’s top players and showed her ability to compete on huge stages. With this achievement added to her career, Sivasangari will look to build a stronger form as she gets prepared for next tournaments.
