The trailer of writer-director Harish Durairaj’s highly anticipated Con City was released earlier this Saturday. Starring Arjun Das and Anna Ben in prime roles, the trailer provides a glimpse of the story without revealing any spoilers. In the recently released teaser of this film, the characters are revealed to chance upon a machine that prints out currency notes. Now, in the trailer, it appears that they are using the money to produce a film. There is also the element of a boy in a wheelchair, and the other characters are seemingly raising money to help him. Arjun Das leads a motley crew, including characters played by Anna Ben, Yogi Babu and Vadivkklarasi, on a con mission for money.
At one point, Arjun Das’s character even imitates VTV Ganesh’s famous style of speaking, revealing that the film is about to deliver good on the humour front as well. The film marks the maiden collaboration between Arjun Das and Anna Ben, a prominent actress hailing from the Malayalam film industry who recently earned much appreciation for her performance in PS Vinothraj’s Kottukkaali (2025).
Con City also stars Akhila, Nanda Gopal, Sakshi Vaidya, Dheepa Ramanujam, Arul Doss, Radha Ravi, Shaji Chen, Ramesh Thilak, Thambi Ramaiah, Imman Annachi, Baradwaj Rangan, Madan Dakshinamoorthy, Ragu Esaki, Ponvannan, and Sathanand, among others. Along with a stellar cast, additional screenwriters for the film comprise Harihara Tamilselvan, Ubasakan, Sudhir Muthu, and Gokul Sugumaran.
The technical front of the film is dominated by music composer Sean Roldan, cinematographer Aravind Viswanathan, editor Arul Moses A, and production designer Raj.
Produced by Power House Pictures in association with Maali and Manvi Movie Makers, Klout Studios and Silver Tree Studios, Con City is set for a June 26 release in cinemas.
Arjun Das’s upcoming films also include the long-awaited Once More with Aditi Shankar and Sona Olickal, Thudarum director Tharun Moorthy’s Malayalam film Torpedo, and another Malayalam film with director Ahammed Khabeer.
