After a huge pre-release buzz around the film, it has finally hit the theatres on August 30.
And according to BoxOfficeIndia.com, ‘Saaho’ raked in Rs 24 crore on its opening day.
The film performed well in Mumbai, Gujarat as well as Marathwada. The collection in the North was less due to the late arrival of the prints.
The report further states that the opening day collection is the third-best of the year in the Hindi market. On the other hand, for a Hindi-dubbed south film, is is the second-best after ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’. ‘Saaho’ has replaced Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer ‘2.0’ which was at the second position.
‘Saaho’ was slated for India’s Independence Day release, however, the makers pushed the date as the film was not complete. Also, releasing the film on the same day as Akshay Kumar’s ‘Mission Mangal’ and John Abraham’s ‘Batla House’ would have impacted the collections of ‘Saaho’.
