Thousands of students in Tamil schools nationwide will benefit from two major education initiative launched under MADANI Government. The total allocation is RM20.8 Million.
The MADANI Furniture Initiative and Kalvi MADANI Programme was officially launched at SJKT Jalan Yahya Awal Johor Bahru, by Human Resources Minister Dato’ Sri Ramanan Ramakrishnan, Education Minister YB Fadhlina Sidek and Deputy Education Minister YB Wong Kah Woh.

The event had representatives from 71 Tamil Schools in Johor, such as head teachers, school board members, Parent-Teacher Associations (PIBG), parents and students.
Kalvi MADANI to Support More Than 10,000 Students
The Kalvi MADANI Programme will have an allocation of RM8 Million through MITRA and will benefit 10,410 students from 315 SJKTs nationwide.

Scheduled to start in July 2026, the programme focuses on students from B40 families who requires additional education support. Under the initiative, students will have free tuition classes, nutritional support, learning kits, and device assistance to help improve academic performance and learning opportunities.
According to Deputy Education Minister YB Wong Kah Woh, the programme planned earlier this year as part of efforts to strengthen students achievement and make sure no child is left behind.
Better Facilities for Tamil Schools
Another RM12.8 Million is allocated for MADANI Furniture Initiative, which benefits 362 government-aided Tamil schools nationwide. The initiatives also includes the supply of school furniture and equipment requested by schools, such as student desk and chairs, teacher room furniture, laboratory equipment, cupboards and other learning facilities.

The first phase started in early June. Dato’ Sri Ramanan Ramakrishnan said the initiative is to create a more comfortable and conductive learning environment for students while improving the overall quality of school facilities.
Expanding Digital Learning
During the launch, Dato’ Sri Ramanan Ramakrishnan announced Smartboards to 140 Tamil schools nationwide. The ICT equipment is expected to strengthen digital learning and make sure students have better access to technology in the classroom.

He said education is still one of the most important investments for the future and that the MADANI Government will continue to support efforts to give quality education opportunities for every child.
