The Institute of Internal Auditors Malaysia (IIA Malaysia) and BAC Education Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen Malaysia’s internal audit profession by developing more skilled, certified and globally recognized professionals.

The collaboration comes when Malaysia’s economy continues to grow recording a 5.4% GDP expansion in the first six months of 2026. As employment patterns continue to change, both IIA Malaysia and BAC Education believes there’s a need to prepare graduates with specialized skills and internationally recognized qualification to meet industry demands.

Building a Stronger Talent Pipeline

Through this partnership, both of the companies will introduce a few initiatives to help develop future internal audit professionals.

  • Pioneering CIA Pathways: The introduction of Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) tutorial programmes.
  • Strategic Postgraduate Degrees: The introduction of MBA pathways with a specialization in Internal Audit, seamlessly incorporating CIA Parts 1, 2 and 3 as electives.
  • Future-Ready Upskilling: Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programmes on emerging risk areas, joint seminars, workshops and career engagement.
  • Tech and Research Synergy: Innovation-focused education for the internal audit sector.

Supporting Malaysia’s Growing Economy

IIA Malaysia President Suhailah Mohamed Abdulla said this will help to build professionals who are not only technically skilled but capable of serving as trusted advisors in corporate governance.

She added that Malaysia’s growing economy needs internal auditors who can go beyond compliance by helping organizations create, protect and sustain corporate value. This initiative supports IIA Malaysia’s efforts to increase the number of Certified Internal Auditors and grow it’s membership.

The Chief Future Officer of BAC Education Group, Raja Singham, said today’s workforce needs more than academic qualification. He said combining academic learning with globally recognised professional certification will built graduates with knowledge, confidence, and practical skills that’s needed to make an immediate impact while remaining adaptable throughout their careers.

The collab shows the shared commitment by IIA Malaysia and BAC Education Group to build a strong pipeline of internal audit professionals equipped with knowledge, practical skills, and internationally recognised qualifications needed for today’s changing workforce.
