At 11 years old, Kumari Tanvi Garimella reached significant milestone in her Bharatanatyam journey after successfully presenting her Bharatanatyam Arangetram on 20th June 2026, at Shantanand Auditorium, Temple of Fine Arts, Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur.
Born in Chennai, India, and raised in Malaysia, Tanvi started learning Bharatanatyam at the age of 3 under the guidance of Guru Sri Dr. Chandramohan Ramasamy , Founder and Principal of Sri Nadhigeswarar Dance & Music Academy. Having dedicated for nearly 50 years to preserve Bharatanatyam and Indian culture, Guru Sri Dr. Chandramohan has guided generations of dancers, including Tanvi with dedication and passion.
After 8 years of training, Tanvi’s Arangetram marks her readiness to perform a complete Bharatanatyam repertoire independently. The performance had a traditional selection of Bharatanatyam pieces with distinguished team of musicians from Malaysia and India, making in a memorable celebration of Indian classical arts.
A Young Dancer with International Experience
Even with her young age, Tanvi has already performed in many cultural, spiritual and international events. These includes Natyanjali Festivals, Astro television programmes, temple festivals, cultural celebrations in Malaysia and India. Including prestigious events in New Delhi.
Her dedication to Bharatanatyam and efforts in promoting Indian classical arts have earned her admiration from audience of the cultural community.
Tanvi is also one of the youngest children in Malaysia to complete her Bharatanatyam Arangetram at the age of 11. This makes her achievement more remarkable.
