The 25th Milo International Open Karate Championship, held at Stadium Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur, from 25–28 June 2026, witnessed the remarkable achievement of Laashreeyna a/p Balachandran as she bagged prestigious awards in two major categories:
🥇 Gold Medal – Individual Kumite (Under 14)
🥈 Silver Medal – Female Team Kumite (11–13 Years)

In demonstrating exceptional determination, discipline, and a strong fighting spirit, she has not only made her family proud but has also brought immense honour to SAINT International School. The school has congratulated her, “We are immensely proud of you!” while also acknowledging her family in this accomplishment. Laashreeyna’s success is owed greatly to her parents for their constant encouragement, sacrifices, and unwavering support throughout her journey.

Comprising athletes from various countries and backgrounds, this international tournament sets a platform to showcase their skills while propagating sportsmanship. The event also had Deputy Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi in attendance, praising the tournament for providing an avenue for young athletes to advance not only their martial arts skills but also discipline and self-confidence, which serve as key qualities for an athlete.
