SJKT Arumugam Pillai added a achievement to their school after their Year 5 Science Team won third place (Bronze Award) at the Zone-Level Science Competition 2026. The team will also receive a RM500 cash prize in recognition for their performance.
The achievement shows the students dedication, creativity, teamwork and passion for science. And also shows the school’s continuous efforts to encourage students to develop their interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) from a young age.

The students who represented the school were Akshayah Mahadevan, Bhaveshweren A/L Prasad Murthi, Pranav A/L Thinakaran, Yuvanend A/L Vijenderen and Yaashwan Nair Pratap Nair. Their hard work and determination in the competition helped the team to win a place.
The school also recognised the commitment of their teachers, whose guidance and encouragement played a important role in preparing the students for the competition.

The main teachers-in-charge were Jai Sri Shahila A/P Jewaratnam and Tahvamani Devi A/P Nagarajan. They were supported by the school’s Science Panel and STEM teachers, Uthravathi A/P Murugaiah, Thulasi A/P Kandasamy, Sunithasarani A/P Narayanan, Sumathi A/P Narayanasamy, Sri Arati A/P Subramaniam, and Joseph A/L Anthonydass.
The Bronze Award is a proud achievement for the school’s community and shows their commitment to support young scientific minds through teamwork, innovation and hands-on learning. This achievement is hoped to inspire more students to get themselves into science, embrace creativity and continue taking part in future competitions.
