Success is often built on passion, perseverance, and a shared dream. For renowned musician Satish Raj Kunasangaran who is known as Ztish and his wife, Sinthujashre, that dream has grown into a remarkable journey of nurturing talent and inspiring aspiring artists across Malaysia.
What began as a vision to make quality music education more accessible has flourished into seven Raaga Music Academy branches alongside the establishment of Ztish Studios, reflecting their unwavering commitment to the growth of the local music industry.
7 Raaga Music Academy and Ztish Studios
On June 6, 2026, the 7 Raaga Music Academy and Ztish Studios were launched. Ztish shared that the inspiration for both initiatives stemmed from his own musical journey. He recounted the challenges he faced in learning, creating, and producing music in Malaysia. With this in mind, he established these platforms to help young talents learn, grow, and ultimately produce professional-quality music in a supportive environment. Ztish’s goal is to create a strong foundation for the next generation of artists.
“7 Raaga Music Academy and Ztish Studios serve two different but connected purposes. 7 Raaga Music Academy focuses on music education, nurturing talent, and providing structured training for aspiring musicians, singers, composers, and performers. Ztish Studios, on the other hand, is a professional music production and recording facility where artists can bring their creative ideas to life through recording, composing, mixing, mastering, and content production,” said Ztish.
Husband and Wife Duo: Breaking Barriers in the Music Industry
Ztish is well-known for his music compositions, particularly for many Malaysian Tamil songs. In 2023, he received the prestigious “Kalai Maamani” award in the Arts category, presented by the Mega Sakraa Puthumugam Arimugam Network (MSPAN), in recognition of his exceptional contributions to the Malaysian Tamil music industry.
His wife, Sinthujashre, has also excelled in the music field, especially in Carnatic music. In 2013, she was awarded a gold medal for her performance in the National Thirumurai Vizha. Together, this husband and wife duo has showcased their remarkable skills and talent in the music industry.

Receiving the Kalaimamani Award was a significant milestone in my career, as it recognized dedication to music composition and contribution to the industry. Different Backgrounds, Same Vision
Ztish and Sinthujashre are both involved in the music industry, despite coming from completely different backgrounds. However, their shared vision and partnership for the music academy focus on one aim: providing opportunities for the younger generation of musicians.
Both of them stated that, “Our musical backgrounds are different, yet they complement each other perfectly. My experience has largely been in music production, composition, commercial music, and the recording industry, while Sinthujashre brings strong expertise in vocal performance & classical music. This balance allows us to approach music from both creative and educational perspectives. We constantly exchange ideas and challenge each other to think beyond our individual strengths.”
The partnership between 7 Raaga Music Academy and Ztish Studios has been instrumental in shaping their vision. They emphasize not only technical excellence but also artistic growth, discipline, and cultural appreciation. With the start of the academy and studio, both Ztish and Sinthujashre have higher hopes of contributing to the music industry, especially by creating opportunities for younger generations.
“We aim to expand 7 Raaga Music Academy by introducing more specialized programs in music production, vocal training, instrumental studies, songwriting, and artist development. We also hope to organize workshops, masterclasses, and collaborations with industry professionals from Malaysia and abroad. For Ztish Studios, our vision is to become a leading creative hub where artists can access world-class music production services and develop projects that can compete on an international level.”
Ztish and Sinthujashre believe that the music industry within the community is evolving and holds great promise. They hope to see increased investment in local talent and stronger support for independent artists. This way, Malaysian musicians can gain greater recognition on the global stage. Additionally, they aim to bridge traditional and contemporary music, ensuring that our cultural heritage thrives while embracing modern innovation.
“Personally, having come from humble beginnings and being fortunate enough to receive a 60% scholarship from MIC to pursue my studies at Limkokwing University, I understand how life-changing opportunities can be. Through 7 Raaga and Ztish Studios, our mission is to create those opportunities for others and help nurture the next generation of Malaysian artists who will proudly represent our nation to the world,” said Ztish.
When Ztish composed the song “Ennai Kollathey” for the movie Geethaiyin Raadhai, he did not expect it to become the first Malaysian Tamil song to reach 100 million views on YouTube. He is grateful to everyone for their support. With this accomplishment in mind, he and his wife, Sinthujashre, have planned to create a platform that provides opportunities for younger generation musicians to grow and receive the support they need.
