Dewi Sree Veerapathra Maha Kaliamman Temple to Hold 3rd Annual Firewalking Festival

Devotees are invited join the 3rd Annual Firewalking Festival 2026 at Dewi Sree Veerapathra Maha Kaliamman Temple at Bagan Ajam, Butterworth, from 9th to 20th July 2026.

The annual festival is one of the biggest religious events and brings devotees together to offer prayers, fulfil vows and seek blessings of Arulmigu Veerapathra Maha Kaliamman.

Festival Schedule

The festival will start on 9th July at 7:30PM with Vasthu Pooja, and Flag Hoisting Ceremony on 10th July at 7:30PM.

And from 11th July to 18th July, Daily Ubayam prayers will be on each evening at 7:30PM.

On 19th July, devotees can join the Afternoon Poojai for Ambal at 12:00PM before the Annual Firewalking Ceremony, which will start at 6:30PM.

The festival will end with Flag Lowering Ceremony on 20th July 2026 at 7:30PM.

A Celebration of Faith and Devotion

The Firewalking Ceremony is the main highlight of the festival, devotees fulfill their vows by walking across a bed of hot coals or embers as a believe of their faith to devotion, and gratitude to the Divine Mother.

The ceremony is expected to have devotees and visitors from across the country, offering opportunity for community to come together in prayer and seek blessings.

The temple posted a warm invitation to everyone to witness the celebration. And hopes the festival will continue to strengthen faith and bring community together in spirit of devotion and unity.
