Astro has introduced Astro X3, a new streaming-first service designed to give viewers a simpler and more flexible way to access entertainment without the need for a box or installation.
Announced on 7th July 2026, Astro X3 allows customers to sign up through the mobile phones and stream within minutes. The service can be watched through Astro app on compatible Smart TVs, while Astro GO allows viewing across different devices.
Along with the launch, Astro also revealed a new line-up of upcoming movies, dramas and live programmes for audiences to look forward to in the next few months.
A New Way to Watch Astro
Astro Group CEO Henry Tan said the company is still focused on connecting Malaysians with local stories, live entertainment, major sporting events, and international content.
He said Astro X3 was introduced as viewing habits continue to change, giving customers an easier way to access Astro. From December 2026, customers will also be able to subscribe without a contract, which gives them the option to pause or cancel their service when they choose.
Astro X3 will offer access to Astro Originals and major sports events, including the Premier League, AFC competitions, UEFA Champions League, Formula 1, MotoGP, Wimbledon, and international badminton tournaments. Global live entertainment content will also be available.
From 20th July 2026, customers can chose between two 12-month contract plans: the Astro X3: Entertainment 12 Pack at RM39.99 per month and the Astro X3: Sports 12 pack at RM89.99 per month.
No-contract options will be introduced in December, with the Entertainment Pack starting from RM59.99 per month and the Sports Pack from RM109.99 per month. All Sports Packs will also include Entertainment Pack Channels.
New Movies, Dramas, and Live Programmes Coming Soon
Astro’s upcoming move line-up includes Terbang, Kudrat 1968, and HAK: Tuntut atau Tunduk. And drama’s are Bulan Henti Bicara, Sumpahan Mencintaimu, Love of My Life, Jutawan Ekspress 2, Premier League: I Love You, WOLONG: The Mastermind, Maara and Marmadesam.
Viewers can also look forward to Signature Live Programmes like Big Stage Rocketfuel, Astro Star Quest 2026- The Next Wave, Astro Classic Golden Melody Singing Competition 2026, and Kilauan Emas Selebriti.
