Eligible Malaysians can now enjoy subsidised diesel through the government’s BUDI Diesel programme using the Touch ‘n Go (TNG) eWallet, making fuel purchases more convenient without the need for physical identification or cash payments.
What Is BUDI Diesel?
BUDI Diesel is part of the government’s targeted fuel subsidy initiative under the BUDI MADANI programme. It enables eligible Malaysians to purchase diesel at the subsidised rate of RM 2.10 per liter, significantly lower than the market price. Eligible users will receive a 200-litre quota per month. The quota is automatically refreshed every month, allowing users to continue enjoying subsidised fuel without reapplying each month.

The subsidy can be redeemed at all participating petrol stations nationwide, including major brands such as PETRONAS, Shell, Petron, BHPetrol, Caltex, and many others. The subsidy can be accessed seamlessly through the TNG eWallet app, allowing users to manage their fuel purchases digitally while keeping track of their remaining monthly quota.
Who Is Eligible?
To qualify for BUDI Diesel, applicants must fulfill the following criteria:
- Be a Malaysian Citizen
- Hold an active and valid driving license
- Own an individually registered private diesel vehicle
- Have an active road tax registered under their own name
Eligible vehicle types include:
- Individual private motor vehicles (Class AB)
- Private cars other than individual motor vehicles (Class AD)
- OKU private vehicles (Class IA)
- Individual e-hailing vehicles (Class AH)
Only individuals who meet all of these requirements are eligible to enjoy the subsidised diesel price.

How to Fill Up Using TNG eWallet
Purchasing subsidised fuel through TNG eWallet requires only three simple steps:
Step 1: Open the TNG eWallet app and tap the BUDI MADANI feature from the home screen. Select the preferred participating petrol station to begin.
Step 2: Next, choose the fuel type, either RON95 or Diesel, enter the pump number and preferred payment amount, then complete the payment to generate a QR code.
Step 3: Present the generated QR code at the station counter. The attendant will scan the code to activate the fuel pump, eliminating the need for cash, cards or physical identification.

For PETRONAS stations, customers can enjoy an even smoother experience by using Setel, which is integrated directly with the TNG eWallet, allowing them to bypass the counter entirely.
Tips Before Refuelling
Before using the service, users are advised to complete their eKYC (electronic Know Your Customer) verification in the TNG eWallet app to avoid delays during the transactions. It is also recommended to enable location services so that the app can detect nearby participating petrol stations. Additionally, entering a slightly higher payment amount ensures uninterrupted refuelling, as any unused balance will be refunded instantly after the transaction.
