Inaugural multilingual comedy festival, PJ Comedy Fest 2026, is set to bring the house down this July at The Square, Jaya One in Petaling Jaya from July 29 to August 2.
Intended to bring together the country’s most exciting comedic voices under one roof for five electrifying nights, the festival is hosted across two dedicated performance spaces – the Studio and the Main Hall. This festival aims to celebrate the full spectrum of comedy, from razor-sharp stand-up and spontaneous improv to large-scale gala performances, intimate storytelling shows, and even a teen theatre production.
With 9 distinct shows, 29 comedians and 11 teen performers, and programming for audiences of all ages, the inaugural edition proudly showcases the richness of Malaysia’s comedic landscape by presenting performances in English, Malay, Chinese, and Tamil reflecting the country’s inclusive cultural celebration.

The festival’s headline attractions include Comedy Gala featuring Joanne Kam, Shamaine Othman, Kavin Jay, Andrew Netto, Papi Zak, Fattah Azeem, Ruoh Peng and Mad Sabah.
Across the five-day programme, the festival will also feature a performance by Piravina Ragunathan.
Taking place on August 1 at 6:30 PM, Piravina Raghunathan’s landmark Tamil-language comedy special debuts on the festival stage. ‘Kanni Raasi’ is set to be a heartfelt, hilarious, and culturally rich solo show that celebrates the Tamil-Malaysian experience through the eyes of one of the community’s most exciting new comedic voices—an unmissable evening for Tamil-speaking audiences and comedy fans alike.
Widely known on social media as @kaamidi_peace, Piravina has dabbled in various fields within the creative industry in recent years. She staged her first solo special in 2023, titled ‘Am I The Drama?!’, which became a hit and completely sold out. She has also performed stand-up comedy for the pilot show Sirikkatheengga Please on Astro, which marked her debut in television. In 2024, Piravina also featured as the protagonist in the BMW Shorties Award-winning short film, ‘Tomorrow is Spring‘ by Krityishaa Karunagaran.
The festival will conclude with a family- friendly production of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream by EM Drama, ensuring audiences of all ages can be part of the celebration.

PJ Comedy Fest represents a significant milestone for Malaysia’s growing comedy ecosystem, bringing together performers, producers and audiences through a shared appreciation of live entertainment and creative expression.
