The renowned Kortumalai Pillaiyar Temple (Court Hill Sri Ganesar Temple) located at Jalan Pudu, Kuala Lumpur, is scheduled for its Maha Kumbabhishegam on August 23, 2026. This announcement was made by Tan Sri Dato’ Dr. R. Nadarajah. The Maha Kumbabhishegam ceremony will take place from 9:00 AM to 10:40 AM.
Approximately RM4 million has been allocated for the temple’s redevelopment, which includes an upgrade featuring construction entirely with granite stone. The funding for this redevelopment was generously provided by the local community.

Special prayers will commence on August 16, 2026, leading up to the Maha Kumbabhishegam. From 10:00 AM on August 19, 2026, until the night of August 20, 2026, devotees wishing to offer gold, silver, and navaratnam (sacred gemstones) can place their offerings at the temple moolasthanam.
Following this, on August 21 and 22, 2026, the Yennai Saathuthal ritual will be performed. Yennai Saathuthal involves the application of oil (thailakaappu) to the temple deities and often serves as a prelude to the Maha Kumbabhishegam or special pujas. This ritual allows devotees to personally anoint the idols, symbolizing purification, healing, and the reception of divine blessings.

On August 23, 2026, at 7:00 PM, a grand procession featuring Lord Ganesha’s gold chariot will take place. Devotees are encouraged to participate in the special prayers, Maha Kumbabhishegam, and chariot procession for a profound spiritual experience.
