Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) services were temporarily disrupted today, July 23, 2026 after construction debris damaged the overhead electrical line system near Batang Benar, Negeri Sembilan.
The overhead line system is a crucial part of Malaysia’s electrified railway network as it supplies power to electric trains including KTM Komuter and ETS services. The incident resulted in interruptions along the affected railway section, causing delays and changes to normal train schedules as KTMB worked to resolve the issue.
Following the incident, KTMB’s technical teams were deployed to assess the damage and carry out repair works on the affected overhead line infrastructure. The railway operator prioritised the restoration of services while ensuring that safety procedures were followed before allowing normal train operations to resume. Passengers were advised to remain updated through KTMB’s official communication channels for the latest information regarding service recovery.
Temporary Service Changes and Alternative Transport Arrangements
Following the disruption, KTMB introduced temporary service adjustments and alternative transport options to assist passengers affected by the incident.
The affected arrangements include:
- KTM Komuter services from Pulau Sebang towards KL Sentral will temporarily terminate at Seremban Station.
- KTM Komuter services heading towards KL Sentral and Batu Caves will only begin operations from Bangi Station.
- No KTM Komuter services will operate between Bangi and Seremban until further notice due to the ongoing repair works.
Three shuttle bus services have been deployed to assist KTM Komuter passengers travelling from:
- Seremban Station
- Tiroi Station
- Batang Benar Station
- Labu Station
- Bangi Station
For affected ETS passengers, seven shuttle buses have been provided at key locations, including:
- KL Sentral
- Bandar Tasik Selatan
- Kajang Station
- Seremban Station
Passengers travelling through the affected route have been advised to use alternative transport options to continue their journeys.
KTMB reminded passengers to refer to its official platforms, including its website and mobile application, for real-time updates on train operations. The railway operator also apologised for the inconvenience caused and thanked passengers for their patience and understanding during the disruption.
