The MADANI Government has allocated RM600,000 through the Ministry of Finance to carry out community and school development projects in Sungai Buloh under the Program Kampung Angkat Madani and Program Sekolah Angkat.
The Malaysian Indian Community Transformation Unit (MITRA) will coordinate and minotaur the implementations of the approved projects. MITRA’s director-general Raveendran Nair said RM500,000 has been allocated for the Program Kampung Angkat Madani at Kampung Ladang Subang, while another RM100,000 will be used for the Program Sekolah Angkat at SJKT Bukit Darah.
He said the funding comes from the Ministry of Finance under the MADANI Government’s initiative, while MITRA’s responsibility is to ensure all approved projects are done systematically, transparently and completed on time.
Upgrades Planned for Kampung Ladang Subang
Under the Program Kampung Angkat Madani, a few improvement projects have been identified to benefit the local community.
These include resurfacing village roads, upgrading the drainage system, building a village landmark, repairing the village perimeter fence, carrying out community clean-up programmes, addressing water supply issues and installing solar-powered lights at strategic locations.
Raveendran said the projects were found after discussions with relevant government agencies and community representatives to ensure they meet the needs of local residents.
Better Facilities for SJKT Bukit Darah
Meanwhile, the RM100,000 allocation under Program Sekolah Angkat will be used to upgrade facilities at SJKT Bukit Darah. The improvements is to have a more comfortable and conductive learning environment for students, teachers and the school community.
Raveendran added that MITRA continues to work closely with local communities and relevant agencies to identify issues and needs before submitting proposals for the government’s consideration.
He said the agency also coordinates and monitors the implementation of approved projects together with ministries, implementing agencies and other stakeholders.
