The Maaedicare Charitable Foundation successfully hosted its annual fundraising gala, A Night of Hope & Healing: Shine a Light, Save a Life, bringing together corporate partners, donors, healthcare professionals and distinguished guests in support of accessible and affordable healthcare for Malaysians in need.

The fundraising event aims to strengthen the foundation’s charitable healthcare initiatives:

  • Subsidised Dialysis Treatment
  • Patient Assistance Programmes
  • Replacement of Ageing Dialysis Machines
  • Affordable Cardiac Diagnostic Services
  • Free Primary Healthcare through Klinik Amal Percuma
  • Community-based Chronic Kidney Disease Screening Programmes

Chairman of Maaedicare Charitable Foundation, Yang Mulia Tunku Dato’ Yaacob Khyra, said Malaysia’s evolving healthcare landscape requires charitable healthcare organisations to focus not only on treating illnesses but also on prevention, early intervention and sustainable healthcare delivery.

“Healthcare today is no longer solely about treating illness after it occurs. It is about investing in prevention, expanding access to quality care and ensuring that financial hardship never becomes a barrier to essential healthcare. Every contribution made tonight strengthens our ability to respond to Malaysia’s evolving healthcare needs while remaining steadfast in our commitment to delivering compassionate, high-quality care,” he said.

He also highlighted the Foundation’s commitment to maintaining clinical excellence by implementing ultrasound-guided cannulation across all eleven of its dialysis centres, ensuring patients receive safer and higher-quality treatment while keeping services affordable.

Chief Executive Officer of Maaedicare Charitable Foundation, Ms Anne Rajasaikaran, emphasised that every donation received during the gala would directly benefit patients and their families. She said the contributions would help patients continue life-saving dialysis treatments, obtain essential medications, travel to medical appointments and receive the care they need with dignity. More importantly, she noted that every donation offers hope to individuals and families facing the challenges of chronic illness.

Today, Maaedicare supports nearly 770 active dialysis patients across 11 charity dialysis centres located in nine states nationwide. Over the past decade, the Foundation has delivered more than 1.2 million dialysis treatments, while its charitable Cardiac Diagnostic Centre has recorded over 13,000 patient visits. Its three Klink Amal Percuma also provide free primary healthcare to approximately 8,000 patients annually.

In recent years, the Foundation has expanded its preventive healthcare efforts through affordable cardiac diagnostic services, community-based CKD screening programmes and the establishment of its third Klinik Amal Percuma in Nilai. These initiatives reflect Maaedicare’s belief that quality healthcare should begin with early detection, timely intervention and accessible primary care, rather than only treating illnesses after they become severe.

The gala was graced by Her Highness Dato’ Seri DiRaja Tan Sri Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz Binti Almarhum Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’Adzam Shah, Tunku Temenggong Kedah, and Batu Member of Parliament P. Prabakaran. Also in attendance were Datuk Dr Thirunavukarasu Rajoo, President of the Malaysian Medical Association, Datuk Dr Kuljit Singh, President of the Association of Private Hospitals of Malaysia, alongside corporate partners, sponsors, donors and distinguished guests.

Established in 1994, Maaedicare Charitable Foundation has grown into one of Malaysia’s leading charitable healthcare organisations. Through its network of dialysis centres, charitable cardiac diagnostic services, free clinics and preventive health programmes, the Foundation continues to improve access to quality healthcare for underserved communities.

The strong support received during A Night of Hope & Healing: Shine a Light, Save a Life reflects the collective commitment of individuals and organisations working together to ensure that more Malaysians can receive life-saving treatment and affordable healthcare regardless of their financial circumstances.
