Composer-actor GV Prakash Kumar has announced a new collaboration with Sony for Marvel’s upcoming superhero spectacle, Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The film is set to release in theatres worldwide on July 30.
GV Prakash took to social media last week to announce that he is composing a ‘Spider-Man Anthem’. Although further details about the song are yet to be released, it is worth noting that before GV Prakash collaborated with Marvel, his uncle, composer AR Rahman, had composed a ‘Marvel Anthem’ for Avengers: Endgame (2019). Released on July 27, the music video features rap by Vengayo and dance choreography by Sandy.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is written and directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who had previously directed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Wonder Man. Tom Holland returns as the titular superhero for the film, which is described as the first of a new trilogy.
The cast of Spider-Man: Brand New Day also includes Zendaya and Jacob Batalon, who are returning as MJ and Ned Leeds, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk, Michael Mando as Scorpion, Marvin Jones III as Lonnie Lincoln/Tombstone and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher. Sadie Sink, Tramell Tillman, Liza Colon-Zayas are also part of the film.
