A student from SJKT Ladang Shanghai Seremban has brought immense pride to Malaysia after emerging as the champion at the prestigious 7th Indian Abacus Competition held in Chennai, India.
Hareescvanan s/o Saravanan claimed the championship title after outperforming more than 10,000 participants from around the world, marking an extraordinary milestone in his abacus journey and placing Malaysia on the global stage.

Hareescvanan’s international success was the result of a series of remarkable achievements in the World Summit Abacus competitions.
His journey began at the National World Summit Abacus Competition, where he demonstrated exceptional mathematical and mental calculation skills. He earned a place on the Dean’s List, secured Rank 1, and was awarded a gold medal, qualifying him for higher-level international competitions.
Building on this success, Hareescvanan advanced to the International World Summit Abacus Competition, where he continued to impress judges with his outstanding performance. He received the Special Award, along with a trophy and gold medal. His achievement was further recognised internationally when his accomplishment was recorded in the London Book of Records, highlighting his exceptional talent and dedication.
Crowned Champion at the 7th Indian Abacus Competition
Following his impressive performances at both the national and international World Summit Abacus competitions, Hareescvanan represented Malaysia at the 7th Indian Abacus Competition, held on July 11, 2026, at the Chennai Convention Centre in India.
Competing against some of the world’s brightest young minds, Hareescvanan showcased exceptional speed, accuracy and mental calculation abilities to emerge as the overall champion. For his outstanding achievement, he was presented with a championship trophy, gold medal, and certificate, bringing home a remarkable victory for Malaysia.
