In a significant proud moment, 14-year-old Laashreeyna made her childhood dream inspired by a movie transform into a remarkable achievement, where she recently brought pride to Malaysia by clinching a gold medal at an international championship in India.
Eight years ago, a six-year-old Laashreeyna was inspired after watching The Karate Kid, a moment that sparked her interest in martial arts. What began as admiration for the sport soon became a lifelong passion as she stepped onto the mat, determined to master karate and chase her dreams.
Her dedication and commitment over the years paid off when she competed in her first international tournament abroad, the 10th India International Karate Championship in Kolkata, India.
Despite facing the pressure of representing Malaysia on a global platform, Laashreeyna delivered a strong performance and emerged victorious in the Karate Kumite category, securing the coveted gold medal. Laashreeyna is actively training under Yellowlab Fitness, Hayashi Ha for her Karate Training School.
The achievement marks a significant milestone in her young sporting journey, reflecting years of discipline, training and perseverance. Competing against athletes from different backgrounds, Laashreeyna showed confidence and determination as she fought her way to the top.
