Actor Suriya recently opened up on his perspective of love at the audio launch event of Vishwanath And Sons. Directed by Venky Atluri, the upcoming film is set to release on August 14.
“I think love should be everlasting. It is not something you should feel when you tie the knot; you should love every single day. Even if you spend 20 years with someone, you should love. You should keep on loving your partner. You should always be respectful,” said Suriya.
He added, “Everybody changes; we do, and so will our partner. Your priorities are different at ages 20, 25, or 30. Your thinking might change; your life can take any direction. But the love and affection you have for your partner should never change.”
In speaking about respect, Suriya noted, “The miles that a woman has to brave to reach a place are far greater than what a man has to cross. A lot of compromise is made by women, like looking after a house or giving birth. Always show your respect for their sacrifices. Stand with that respect as much as you can. Show a lot more respect than love.”
When speaking about the financial hurdles that delayed the release of Karuppu in a recent interview, Suriya credited his wife, actor Jyotika, for standing by him through the crisis. “It was a huge financial burden that came on me at the last minute. For me to take those extra loans, she trusted me and allowed me to do it. She believed that even if something went wrong, as a family we would go through it together and face it together.”
Jyotika, however, insisted that the credit belonged entirely to Suriya, praising his determination to ensure the film’s release. “This was completely his effort. It was his generosity and his determination to make the film work. Directly or indirectly, the family also goes through all of this.”
An earlier trailer for Vishwanath And Sons hinted at the plot involving an age-gap romance between a middle-aged sportsman and a younger woman, who becomes infatuated with him.
The cast of the film also includes Mamitha Baiju, Radikaa Sarathkumar, Raveena Tandon, and Nassar.
