At a wedding in Klang, Christina noticed something that many women have experienced but rarely talk about. As she looked around the hall, she realized that several guests, including her own mother, were wearing almost the same saree. The colors were different but the designs were nearly identical. That moment stayed with her. It made her realize that finding something truly unique had become increasingly difficult. What was once special had slowly been replaced by mass-produced designs.

Today, that moment has grown into Grace n Glamour, a Seremban based boutique built on the belief that every woman deserve to wear something that flesh uniquely her own.

A Leap of Faith after 15 years

Before becoming an entrepreneur, Christina spent 15 years building a successful corporate career in risk and compliance at a Fortune 500, NYSE-listed company, including eight years based in Singapore. Armed with biotechnology degree and an MBA, she had built a respected career and was leading teams in the financial compliance industry. But despite the stability, something was missing.

Christina and Kate

After pandemic, she started traveling across India, visiting state handloom agencies and meeting artisans who spent generations preserving traditional weaving techniques. What started as a personal interest slowly became something much bigger.

In 2025, Christina made one of the biggest decisions of her life. She left the corporate world behind and returned to Malaysia to open Grace n Glamour.

A Tribute to a Mother’s Sacrifices

The boutique’s name carries a deeply personal meaning. Grace n Glamour is named in honour of Christina’s mother, whose quiet sacrifices inspired her throughout life.

“It is my way of honouring everything she has done for our family. The boutique is her legacy as much as it is mine,” she said.

One Piece, One Story

Unlike many fashion boutiques, Grace n Glamour does not believe in selling the same design over and over again. Every saree is personally hand-picked from state handloom agencies across India, making each piece unique.

“We don’t want our customers walking into a wedding only to find someone else wearing the same sarees,” Christina said.

Over time, the boutique has also expanded beyond sarees to include ready-to-wear festive outfits, wedding guest attire, menswear, children’s wear, home bedding and home decor. About 80% of the collection is designed in Malaysia and made in India under the boutique’s own label.

Educating Customers, Not just Selling

For Christina, selling clothes is only one part of the business. She believes customers deserves to know exactly what they are buying, especially at a time when fabrics marketed online as “pure silk” or “pure cotton” are often blended materials.

Instead of simply making a sale, she takes the time to explain the fabrics, weave, fibre, and region where each piece comes from.

“It isn’t about criticizing other sellers. It’s about helping customers understand what they’re wearing so they can make informed choices,” she explained. The boutique also works directly with NGOs supporting India’s handloom communities, helping preserve traditional craftmanship while supporting artisans behind every piece.

A Hidden Gem in Seremban

In less than two years, Grace n Glamour has built a loyal customer base. Brides have travelled from Kedah to purchase sarees for their ROM ceremonies, while customers from the United States and Ireland have ordered pieces without visiting the boutique.

The boutique has also dressed a few celebrity and royal guests through pop-up events in Klang Valley. Earlier this year, Christina represented Malaysia as a hosted buyer at Indian garment exhibitions, where she connected with textile makers and industry veterans across India directly.

More than Fashion

For Christina, Grace n Glamour has never been just about beautiful clothes. Its about celebrating heritage, supporting artisans, educating customers and creating pieces that cannot be found anywhere else. As Deepavali approaches, she hopes more people will rediscover the beauty of authentic craftsmanship and choose pieces that tell a story on their own. For those who have yet to discover the boutique, Grace n labour remains one of Seremban’s hidden gems, proving that sometimes the most meaningful journeys begin with a simple observation, a leap of faith and the courage to start over.
